There is covered, ceramic tiled porch beyond the windows with a stairway leading to the basement garage and steps leading to the front yard. The metal cabinets in the kitchen are St. Charles (hoity-toity stuff in the 50's)that are painted with an industrial paint called Hammerite and then rubbed to give it a slight texture.

WHY ARE THERE NICKELS EMBEDDED IN YOUR FRONT PORCH?!

When the house was being completed in 1950, my dad had a gum machine and pinball game route (kiddie rides, juke boxes and video games came later). He would come home with bags of pennies, nickels and dimes after "checking the route". He decided to make it look like he spilled a bag of nickels on the front porch upon his return home. He had a bunch of nickels (some were even old Buffalo Nickels and Liberty Head Nickels) welded onto lead weights and sunk them into the newly poured concrete on the front porch.
It embues all who crosses the thresh hold with prosperity and good luck!
